Mattetype Relay is Windows software that monitors and remotely controls allow-listed Houdini 21+ render, cache and TOP/PDG work on workstations you own or are authorized to operate. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SideFX.
Subscription and access
Cloud plans renew for the term, price and seat quantity shown at checkout until cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the paid term unless a refund or chargeback reverses the purchase.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for project backups, output paths, free disk space, renderer and Houdini licenses, and protection of license keys, browser sessions and Discord links. Do not share keys, evade seat limits, attack the service or control a computer without authorization.
Continuity and updates
Loss of entitlement does not intentionally terminate a render or cache already running. New managed jobs and remote commands may be restricted after the signed offline lease expires. Security and compatibility updates may be delivered automatically.
Warranty and liability
The product assists an existing Houdini workflow but cannot guarantee render output, third-party plug-ins, hardware, networks or SideFX licensing. Mandatory consumer rights and liability that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

Contact support@mattetype.com first so we can investigate account, delivery or service issues. These terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights or remedies available in your place of residence.

Mattetype Relay is designed to keep project content on the workstation. The cloud service processes the minimum account, licensing and operational information needed to deliver paid access and remote control.

Not uploaded as cloud content
HIP files, scene contents, project and output files, render images/AOVs, Agent API tokens, Discord bot tokens and Tailscale credentials are not stored as customer cloud content. Small job, node-path and resource snapshots are relayed only when Cloud Control is enabled so the dashboard and notifications can function.

These providers may process information in countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Their contractual and security safeguards apply in addition to ours.

Request access, correction or deletion at privacy@mattetype.com. Records subject to statutory retention may be restricted and retained until that period ends.

A payment-free seven-day workstation trial is available once per Windows workstation and ends without starting a paid subscription.
Initial purchase
Request a full refund within 7 days of the first paid purchase. Duplicate charges, incorrect seat quantities and confirmed service-side outages are reviewed for a full or proportional refund.
Renewals
You can cancel before renewal. A renewal may be refunded when requested within 7 days and the renewed term has not been materially used. Mandatory consumer law and the checkout provider's rules take precedence when they provide stronger rights.
Requesting a refund
Email support@mattetype.com with the purchase email, order number and reason. Never send a complete license key, Agent token or Discord token.
Policy version: 2026-08-22License and Seat Policy
One seat permits activation on one Windows workstation. A multi-seat purchase uses one customer license and dashboard to manage up to the purchased number of active workstations.
Activation and transfer
Deactivate or release a workstation in Preferences before activating its replacement. If a failed computer cannot release its seat, support can review and release the old activation. Excessive repeated transfers may be temporarily limited to protect stolen keys.
Seven-day offline lease
A server-signed entitlement remains valid offline for up to seven days after a successful refresh. A server or internet outage does not intentionally terminate running work. When the lease expires, monitoring remains available locally while new cloud commands and managed jobs may be restricted until validation succeeds.
Third-party licenses
SideFX Houdini, Engine, Karma and third-party renderer licenses are separate. Mattetype Relay neither includes nor bypasses them. Parallel managed processes may consume additional third-party license seats.
Restrictions
Do not redistribute or resell keys, bypass seat or signature checks, expose remote-control credentials, distribute malware, attack the service or control systems without authorization.
